As the ISIS threat continues to ravage the Middle East, foreign intervention has intensified after the Pentagon and the United States Government plan to form an international coalition to begin coordinated airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. Throughout this summer, ISIS wreaked havoc upon northern Iraq, accumulating thousands of new recruits from Iraqi Sunni tribes, prisons, and insurgent groups. US intelligence officials report that this sudden burst of recruitment has nearly tripled their size, catching authorities by surprise. The Obama administration is on full alert, attempting to break apart the dangerous new alliances the organization has made, and to push them back. ISIS has shown its competence with its major military gains and sufficient funding, along with capable leaders at the helm. As time progresses, the US military will be offensive, rather than defensive. Islamic State Leaders will be bombed for the first time in an attempt to aid Iraqi and Kurdish ground forces. These are the same tactics used against ISIS's forerunner group, Al Qaeda. Speaking at a fundraiser on Friday, President Obama conveyed his determined confidence that the United States and its allies would be able to push back ISIS, and eventually destroy it.

This issue is extremely important because the ISIS threat can no longer be ignored. Their radical Islamic beliefs must be stopped, and the group must be defunct. They are more than a terrorist group, they are an army. An army with thousands of young, and passionate guerilla fighters ready to slaughter anyone who disagrees with them.
